Jessica Clark Barrow

Executive Vice President, Waratah Capital & Toronto Chair, 100 Women in Finance

Jessica joined Waratah Capital Advisors in September 2013, and is a member of the firm’s management committee responsible for account management for both advisory and UHNW clients. Waratah is a Toronto-based alternative asset manager that specializes in absolute return long/short investment strategies managing over $1.4 billion in assets from pensions funds, foundations and high-net-worth individuals. Jessica has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets and alternative investment strategies.

Prior to joining Waratah, Jessica founded a consulting firm focused on the needs of Canadian hedge funds born from her decade long career working with alternative investment managers at CIBC World Markets. Jessica was responsible for capital introduction and strategy within CIBC’s Prime Services Group, Alternative Execution Services and Electronic Trading teams. In prior roles in CIBC Commercial Banking she led strategic business development projects across Canada. She began her career at BMO Nesbitt Burns on the institutional equity trading desk. Jessica holds a BSc (Honours) degree from the University of Western Ontario and has completed the Richard Ivy School of Business Investor Relations program and is registered as a Dealing Representative.

Jessica sits on the Ontario Emerging Managers Board and is the current Chair of 100 Women in Finance, Toronto Committee, a global network of 15,000 professionals working together to empower women at every stage of their careers and create opportunities that help to advance and strengthen the field. In April 2019, Jessica will be Co-Chairing the first ever True Patriot Love Women’s Expedition to Baffin Island – a 100km ski traverse in support of TPL and their work for Canadian military veterans and their families.
