Interim CEO, WCM
Katie is the Interim CEO of Women in Capital Markets (WCM), a national, not-for-profit that promotes the acceleration of equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) in the Canadian finance industry. WCM is the largest network of professional women in Canada’s financial sector.
During her career at WCM, Katie has been a driving force in creating more equitable and diverse workplaces where everyone has equal opportunity to advance and succeed. She is the co-author of the landmark ED&I report The Equity Equation, which examines the experiences of women, BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ and other underrepresented groups in Canadian finance and offers an innovative roadmap for firms towards improved ED&I. Katie honed her expertise and passion in ED&I while serving as WCM’s Chief Strategy Officer and the Director of Marketing and Western Operations. She began her career in film production, working on documentaries and corporate productions, before launching her own marketing business.
Katie earned a BA degree from Queen’s University with a major in Film and Media Studies. She is a graduate of the Canadian Institute’s Marketing Strategy Program and a former Board Director of Studio 180, an independent, Toronto theatre company. When she’s not working, you can find her skiing, mountain biking, hiking with her dog and enjoying time with family and friends.
